School Breakfast
There is a reason folks say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. When students start the day with a healthy meal, they are more likely to retain what they learn in class, leading to better grades, exhibit better behavior, and experience better health outcomes. School breakfast is one of the best ways to ensure students receive a nutritious meal at the start of the school day. Garrison-Pilcher Elementary, Cross Creek Elementary, and Hand n Hand Primary all offer Breakfast in the Classroom, where students can pick up breakfast off a meal cart on their way into school and eat in their homeroom classroom. In addition to breakfast before school, Thomas County Central High School and Thomas County Middle School offer a Second Chance Breakfast to students. Students can pick up their breakfast from a grab & go cart after the school day has begun. All students are welcome to participate Monday through Friday. As CEP district, all students in Thomas County eat breakfast (and lunch) free of charge.
